“Start wherever you are and start small.”
There’s something to be said for starting fresh. Maybe that’s why we love New Year's Resolutions so much. I’m a big fan of making and setting a resolution at any point in the year though. So don’t wait! Now is the perfect time to start and as the quote says: start small. I’ve learned over the years that if I set a big goal it doesn’t happen but when I break it down into small steps, I’m more likely to make it happen. So whatever your hopes are for 2025 I hope they all come true!
This year I’ve made a list of accomplishments. I don’t always do that but it was a tough year—a neverending year—and I needed a reminder. Do you look back at your year? If you haven’t (or don’t) you should! Even if all you do is write out a quick list on a scrap piece of paper. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you’ve accomplished until you see it written down.
looking back at 2024
2024 was a big year for me. I released: Sacrament and Smoke, The Dead Saint, and Steel and Starlight. All part of my Blood and Rubies Series. The Living Saint will be released in 2025 and I can’t wait! It wraps up Sorcha and Adrian’s story. But! It’s not the end of the series. I have a yet-to-be-titled novel in the works that picks up with two characters from The Living Saint.
The Glass Palace was released as an audiobook from Podium! This was such an incredible experience. Mary Jane Wells narrates and brings so much life to this story. She is one of my absolute favorite narrators of all time and you should definitely listen to some other things she’s worked on. One of my favorites is The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare.
Deep Water and Other Stories was released as an audiobook! Ode McGuire has a beautiful voice and it was such an honor to work with her again. She also narrated Magic and Myth - Short Stories. She brought these stories to life in a way I never expected. I hope you’ll give them a listen! Also, if you’re a fairytale short story fan please read The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. She’s a huge inspiration to me and her stories are beautiful
Hello 2025
I have several writing projects happening in 2025 and I’m so ready. A new series has been bouncing around in my brain and I can’t wait to get it onto the page. I want to write stories where you feel the sea spray and angst; warm sun on your skin and the tingle of a first kiss. I want ocean waves echoing in your head and the scents of wild roses and wet stone to fill your lungs.

Yet to be titled Myth Novel (Water Myth Series)
There are so many wonderful (and sometimes sad) myths and stories surrounding water. One that’s always lingered with me is Undine by Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué. Then there are selkies, sirens, kelpies, and mermaids. I’m really looking forward to exploring some favorite myths and creating new stories.
