California Dreaming
In a few days Darrell and I will be heading back to one of my favorite places. The last time we were in California we packed in as much as we could, filling eight days with countless miles and memories.
I’m not sure how we’ve managed to end up in California so much over the last three years but that’s where work has taken the both of us. And I can’t go some place new and not see a little bit of the area.
There's so much to see and do, tall trees to stand under and sandy beaches to walk, Joshua Trees and places made famous by movies and tv. I don't have a lot of interest in the later, I'm more of a outdoors, road trip kind of woman. Though we did a lot of wandering around San Francisco the first time we were there, riding trolley cars and eating donuts on the pier.
Places we've been:
• Yosemite
• Point Reyes National Seashore
• King’s Canyon & Sequoia National Parks
• Muir Woods National Monument
I’ve got a few must see places on our list for this visit but I need recommendations! We're starting out in San Jose for work and then we'll only have a few days to sight-see. Where’s your favorite place to eat in San Jose? What’s your favorite spot to hike? This is what’s on our list so far but I'm not sure how much we'll get to see due to snow in the Sierra Nevada. I'm pretty sure we'll end up spending all our time on the coast anyway.
Places to go:
• Bristlecone Ancient Pine Forest - Inyo National Forest
• Devil’s Postpile National Monument
• fish and chips somewhere amazing
• almond croissants somewhere just as amazing
• In-N-Out Burger is a stop for sure, maybe two
